How to make a jar of golden chocolate coins

DIY: Christening giveaway ideas

I’ve always love jars, whether it is mason jar, candy jar or even an empty jars out of spreads, name it I have it!

Whenever I see such one I can’t help myself to stare and sometimes buy at least one piece. And so on every occasion, these jars are my main favors.

Today we’ll create a simple christening giveaway made with golden coins inside the candy jar.

Before we proceed with the DIY let me share with you a short story why I’ve decided to make this as a token on our little one’s christening event.

My husband and I have one a week to prepare the occasion so we need an immediate solution to what the godparents and guest will have as a reminder of our sweet angel’s moment.

Booking on a souvenir shop is not possible as they will need to have a two weeks lead time to prepare the product. We have no other option but to create a do it yourself item, that’s where I got the idea of using candy jars.

Gold coins idea came from my husband since we’ve managed to purchase a candy jar with a gold lid. He says it would match with the gold coins too (good thoughts though).

So let us move on to our DIY baptism favor.

What you will need:

  • Candy jars
  • Customized label
  • Gold chocolate coins

You can make your own design of the label and cut it into a circular form to fit with the lid or in front of the jar or which you prefer.

Below sample, I stick the label on the lid of the candy jar. Then put the gold coins inside.

The final product will look like this.

Amazingly you can still provide cute and good memorabilia of your child’s christening to your friends, your child’s godparents and other guests even if you have limited time to prepare for it.

Just be creative and put the effort on to make it beautiful and presentable!

Your husband had a pretty cool idea. They do look a little difficult to make, but I guess that it is worth it. I’m sure that the people who received these souvenirs were very impressed. I hope that the event went awesomely.
